Today I’m going to tell you about my trip to camp! On Feb 14 was the first day of camp. We reached the mangroves after an hour and a half drive and we ate lunch to gain energy. We then learnt about the mangroves, then we did crab catching, but I didn’t catch any! However Ms. Jones handed me some crabs on the palm of my hand and they tickled me!! After that we splashed each other for a while and I fell in the water with my glasses on! We ended our time at the mangroves with a scavenger hunt and out of 4 groups the winner will have dinner first so it was important but sadly we lost but it was okay.
When we reached the camp we saw the camels then we went to our rooms. When we went to our rooms we unpacked and some showered before we had free time. In free time we played soccer on sand but it was kind of weird to play on sand and two teams scored a total of 8 goals!!! After that we went to dinner and they had great food like pasta with vegetables, chicken wings and rice, it was awesome! Then we went outside to have a marshmallow toast and sing and more fun stuff. At around 8:40 pm to 9:30 pm we had time to read, shower, talk , and prepare to sleep. We all slept through the night and woke up at 6:30 am. In the morning we went to breakfast at 7:15 am, then we started the interesting activities.
On our first activity of the four we did fires in groups and our group made a fire but not the biggest one compared to Mayed’s group.
Then we did catwalking where I did the second level and I managed to go halfway through which was really good! I was really a risk-taker!!
Our third activity was tracks and traps were we had to find animal footprints. Our last activity at camp was amazing because it was sandboarding and we got to go from the top of the hill to the bottom of the hill, we also saw more camels while boarding!
Sadly we had to eat lunch and then leave Ecoventure, I was kind of sad but at the same time happy to see my parents. When we reached school I was so happy to see my sister and my grandma to pick me up and head for lunch with them.
My camp experience at Econventure was awesome and lots of fun with my friends. I look forward to going again to Ecoventure camp in 2018!!
