UAS is excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Scholastic Books so that it’s even easier for youScreenshot 2016-01-30 14.06.55 get more books in the hands of your children. The February UAS Scholastic Book Club is up and running and will happen every month for the rest of the school year. Parents of students in grades PreK-8 can go online and order books at discounted prices. Once the order is placed, the books will automatically be delivered to the school and given to your children to take home. Our February book order is open until February 11th. If you order by this deadline, then orders will arrive in time to help UAS celebrate Literacy Week, February 28-March 3.

Best of all, for every 5AED you spend on this month’s Scholastic Book Club, UAS will earn 1AED to spend on building classroom libraries right here in our own school.

Go to http://world-schools.scholastic.co.uk/universal-american-1 to browse the latest books and order online by credit card. Parents, please make sure to indicate your child’s homeroom class when ordering. We will not be sending home paper order forms or collecting cash at school – this can be done online which makes it even more convenient for our families.

Middle School Beginning Band and the Elementary Connect!

Our current 6th graders were in elementary school last year and many of our elementary students still look up to them even though they are the “big” middle school kids now. Our elementary music teachers have connected our two divisions by having the 6th graders showcase their few months of learning in the new middle school band program!

Take a peek below and smile sweetly inside as our 6th Grade Beginning Band showcases their instruments for our elementary students. Thank you to our 6th graders for encouraging our elementary students to think about which instrument they will want to play when they get to middle school!

Student Learning Assembly Success!

Many congratulations to all of our presenters at our recent student learning exhibitions! Ask them about their pointer power! Our older students shared information they learned while researching their culture and famous people in history.
