Congratulations to our UAS Islamic Department for organizing a meaningful and celebratory Hajj Parade. The UAS Hajj Parade is an annual event hosted prior to the Eid holiday. The children in our Islamic education classes changed into their Hajj themed clothes (Kandoora and Hijab) in the morning and gathered for the parade. All of our classes lined the hallways to join in the celebration before the parade made its way to a representation of the Kaaba. The children then wrote good wishes on balloons and released them outside to conclude the event.
Thursday, September 17th marks this year’s ES Grades 2-5 Hajj Parade. Islamic students are invited to participate in the morning parade. Children who have dressed for the parade will meet and gather for a 9:00am parade start. Children not participating in the parade will remain in their scheduled classes and then line the hallways during the parade to join in the celebration of this event. Parents are welcome to attend. UAS Dress Down Day
Thursday, September 17th marks the first school-wide UAS Dress Down Day. All children may come to school in their normal weekend wear. For students dressing for the Hajj parade, they may change into their “dress down” clothes after the parade. As an elementary school, we may link future Dress Down days to a meaningful fundraising efforts supported by our Student Council but for now, dress down and show some school spirit!
