# New assessment dates

Good morning,

Due to the recently announced Eid holiday, I have decided to postpone the assessment till next week. The new dates will be as follows:

Sections 3, 4 & 1 will have their assessment on Monday, June 18th.

Section 2 will have their assessment on Tuesday, June 19th.

Incase the Eid falls on Saturday, we will not have school on Monday so the revised dates will be as follows:

Sections 2, 3 & 4 will have their assessment on Tuesday, June 19th.

Section 1 will have their assessment on Wednesday, June 20th.

# Ratio Assessment

Good afternoon,

We will be having an assessment on ratios next week. Students will be tested on their knowledge and understanding of the following topics:

a. Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. (part-to-part, part-to-whole) Pearson (5.1) IXL (R.1, R.2)

b. Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations. Pearson (All of Unit 5 from 5.1-5.7) IXL (R.3, R.4, R.5, R.6)

c. Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. Use tables to compare ratios. Pearson (5.2, 5.3 & 5.4) IXL (R.3, R.4, R.5, R.6)

d. Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. Pearson (5.5, 5.6, 5.7) IXL (R.7, R.8, R.9)

e. Solve unit rate problems including those involving unit pricing and constant speed. Pearson (5.5, 5.6, 5.7) IXL (R.7, R.8, R.9)
