We are discussing what a polygon is in class. Attached for you is the video watched in class. Feel free to review it at home with the kids.

Dear parents,
As we are starting Unit 9 in Math, I’ve attached for you some examples of the kinds of questions that the kids will be working on. Please have them keep practicing their addition and subtraction facts for fluency.

Dress up day tomorrow

Dear parents,
Tomorrow the students should come to school in dressy “celebratory” clothing. Girls can wear skirts or dresses, and boys should wear something dressy. The school is recognizing Hag Al Leila. The Elementary Blog has asked kids to try to bring in 2 bags of candy. The candy will be sorted and distributed to all the children tomorrow.

Please see my post from earlier today regarding the request for pencils for one of the grade 5 exhibition groups.

Grade 5 Exhibition Group Contest

The quality education grade 5 group will be hosting a pencil drive this Wednesday, May 2nd. Students should try to bring in new pencils (or other school supplies) to donate to Malawi schools.

Students will collect pencils, and the pencils will be weighed by class. The class with the heaviest bag of pencils wins. The prize will be the Madagascar film with popsicles to be agreed on a time and date with the class teacher.

Let’s win for a good cause! Let’s bring in as many pencils as possible!

Dear Parents and Families of Universal American School,

This is a reminder to sign up for Student Led Conferences via Synergetic. The letter with instructions for the sign-up is here.

Please complete your sign up by 2:00 pm on Tuesday.

We are excited to see how your students will be able to describe their learning to you!

Thank you,

Elementary Arts Alive Display

April 19 – May 3, 2018

We are pleased to announce that the elementary arts alive is officially on view! Our KG2 – 5th Grade students have worked hard since the beginning of the year to create the many different artworks currently hanging in the front and back lobby.

Due to the large number of students, only one artwork per student was chosen to be displayed. Parents are encouraged to collect the rest of their child’s art portfolio from the art room during Student Led Conferences.

Enjoy all the amazing art!
