Sunday, February 25th- No School

Monday, February 26th- Field Trip to Dubai Safari Park. Please make sure that students arrive at school on time and have a good, heavy snack to take with them on the field trip. Students will eat lunch back at school in the classroom, and will not be able to purchase lunch from the cafeteria. Please make sure that students have a hat to wear outside.

Tuesday, February 27th- Early Release: 2:00

Wednesday, February 28th- “WE ARE THE WORLD”. In preparation for our 11th annual International Day celebration at UAS, which is hosted by the PTSO on Saturday March 3, students are invited to wear clothes to school that represent their country – International Dress-down Day. The dress-down day will be on Wednesday, February 28! Students will be engaged in cultural activities within their classroom instead of a parade.

Saturday, March 3rd- International Day at UAS

March 4th-8th Literacy Week at UAS: We will have many different activities during this week that support literacy including an author visit from John Felton. An order form went home Thursday. If you would like to purchase one of his books. Please have them sent back by March 5th. More information to come.

Tuesday, March 6th – Reading Dogs (Students selected at random if they return their consent form)
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME READ TO THE KIDS. I’M PLANNING A POPCORN WITH PARENTS TIME….WHEN? DEPENDS ON HOW MANY PARENTS SIGN UP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME READ TO THE KIDS TUESDAY THE 6TH AT 10:30 – 11:00, OR 12:15 – 12:45.

Wednesday, March 7th- 1st grade musical performance of “The Day the Crayons Quit” in the MPH at 8:00.

Thursday, March 8th – Dress like a Book Character Day: Dress as your favorite book character. No need to buy a costume! Be creative – what do they wear? A hat? Glasses? Striped shirt? Red pants???
