PAINTING- In this messy, chilly sensory activity, we froze ice trays after each child added one color of paint and mixed it into the water. They were so excited when we went to the freezer and saw the colored water had frozen. Playing with the ice, they rubbed them all over their papers to make a colorful creation. Highlights from this week

Today we attended the Grade 2 musical. It was a wonderful time and a lot of the kids had siblings in grade 2. The musical was in the MPH and was based on  Harold and the Purple Crayon a story the kids know very well.

RAMADAN KAREEM! Ramadan Schedule began today. Just a reminder that our morning schedule for PreK has changed slightly. Students may not be dropped off before 7:30, as there is no supervision until that time. We will be staying on the playground each morning until 8:25 since the weather is cooler then. YOUR CHILD SHOULD BRING THEIR WATER BOTTLE TO THE PLAYGROUND WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT SCHOOL EACH DAY. There is no need for you to wait for the whistle to blow, and we will do our attendance after 8:25.

Dismissal/pickup is normal 12:45 time for PreK.  Lastly, if your child rides the school bus, remind them that they will be riding a full bus of ALL ages PK-Grade 12.

Also, in PreK we continue to drink water and have our 2 regular snacks, so please send in as normal.

Thank you all so much for supporting your child during this exciting week in PreK by coming to our End of the Year celebration! I was so proud of all the children, they have worked so hard practicing and were all such risk-takers by getting up on the stage to perform the three songs for everyone.

SALT WATER, FRESH WATER- This week we learned that there are different types of water. We had fun making a salt water creation to represent the ocean where we added our favorite sea creatures and a lot of salt!

WE ARE FISH– It is evident that almost everyone loves swimming. Many are under the water more than above and everyone is taker greater risks and trying new swimming skills. They are having so much fun swimming with their friends and we are happy we can continue swim class even during Ramadan.

Dry Ice Experiment– Monday we will be doing a very cool science experiment using dry ice.

Ramadan starts tomorrow

Beginning tomorrow and throughout Ramadan we are changing the morning schedule for PK/KG1. We will be staying on the playground until 8:30 because the weather is cooler. There is no need for you to wait for the whistle to blow.
Also, car riders should be picked up at 12:45, as usual. (The carpark will be quite busy as the rest of the school is dismissing at 1:00).
Thank you and Ramadan Kareem

OUR FIELD TRIP– Thursday was a full and exciting day! At the Dolphinarium, we worked our way through a crazy Mirror Maze, were entertained by dancing, talking, intelligent birds at the Bird Show, ate lunch together, and then were dazzled by the Dolphin and Seal Show. In our reflection time, the dolphins remained the favorite for most, but also getting to ride on a school bus was a treat for those that are car riders. Thank you to the two moms, Kris Lawerence and Crystal Hanna that chaperoned and were so helpful. I wish all the moms could have come!

This week we learned about puffer fish and Mrs. Waldo brought in a real puffer fish that we could hold. It was really fun and we learned all about what they eat and even watched a video on them eating clams and crabs.
