Highlights from this week.

Highlights from this week:

FEELINGS- This week we focused on the feeling “angry.” We learned that although everyone feels angry at times, we need to control this feeling and not hurt anyone or ourselves. We read, acted out, and talked about telling someone how we feel and what we can do to feel better.

Reeds Angry Face- What makes me mad- “When my sister hits me I feel angry”.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Days.

Spring Break: March 22nd – April 7th

SWIMMING TIME –We are excited to announce that Pre-K classes will begin swimming in our small UAS pool after spring break!

Our first day of swimming will be Wednesday May 2nd 10:15 – 10:45am and we will swim EVERY WEDNESDAY at this time.

Please have your child wear their swim suit to school so we have more time to get things done before swimming. It will be necessary to have them wear only 2 piece suits for easy toileting. Please do not have your child wear a 1piece body suit or girl’s 1-piece swim suit. They must bring a swim cap. They are available for purchase in the school uniform shop but they can wear any kind.

They can wear their uniform or just any t-shirt and shorts over their suits on the day of swimming. They should also wear sandals, flip flops or crocs for the day as well. Please bring a separate waterproof bag with a towel, swim cap, and underwear to change into after swimming. LABEL ALL CLOTHING AND CAPS PLEASE.

The pool is only a few feet deep and they will be closely supervised, so it is not necessary to send in water wings or floating toys.

It is in a covered area but we may do water activities beforehand outside, so please apply sunscreen before they come to school.

Please read and discuss the following rules with your child.

  • Walking feet only-No running
  • Use #2 voice (table talk)
  • Wear swimming caps
  • Sit and slip into pool
  • Gentle play only

They must listen and follow the rules during swim time to participate. If you have questions, please email me.

We can’t wait for the fun to begin!

  • Spring break begins! No school until April 8th!

I wish your family a blessed spring holiday!

Highlights from this week.

Highlights from this week:

FEELINGS- This week we focused on the feeling “scared.” We learned that sometimes fear keeps us safe from dangerous things. Sometimes we are afraid when we don’t need to be. We discussed what we can do when we are scared- tell someone and talk about it.

FEELINGS MONSTERS– We made feelings monsters by choosing our own paint color, cutting them out alone, adding face parts, and describing how their monsters were feeling. They are learning that their words can be written on paper or in the computer and printed out. Literacy learning is all around!

Buddy Project- Our 4th grade buddies did a great project on different animals. They presented them to us and taught us about many different animals. We then picked out books about the animals and they read them to us. It was a lot of fun learning from the big kids.

On Thursday we did learning in outdoor centers – which is unfortunately coming to an end as the weather is starting to change. The children have enjoyed participating in many of the different activities, where they get to choose who they worked with in their small groups.

Next Week:

SUNDAY- Open inquiry -Please wear your yellow shirts.

GREEN DAY- On Monday March 19th please have your child wear something green and bring in a green show and tell.

MOTHER’S DAY is coming next week and the children have been preparing some surprises for our wonderful moms!

  • Thursday – School dismissal is at 11:45am – The carpark gets very full, very quickly as the whole school finishes at the time on this day.
