I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful Christmas gifts. The gift certificate is such a thoughtful gift, I can’t wait to go shopping! I also received so many other nice presents. Your thoughts, support and generosity mean so much to me.
I am off to Florida on Saturday to see my family, I can’t wait.
Wishing you and your family a safe, happy holiday. See you on the 7th.
A reminder that tomorrow is pajama day! Your child should come to school in their pajamas and slippers. They may bring a stuffed animal to cuddle if they wish. Please be sure they have regular shoes for outside play. Some children are not comfortable wearing pajamas and that’s ok, they don’t have to.
We will not be going to the cafeteria, but I will give the children a chance to eat in the classroom so be sure to send food for them as they are used to eating at 11:00 and will be hungry.
Today I am sending their poem notebooks and a few books to read over the holiday. Please keep them until we return on Jan 7th. Don’t forget they can also use Razkids and IXL. They can also work on their sight words.
As a parent, you are welcome to come to the library and check out books for the holiday.
Report cards will be posted on the UAS portal this afternoon. I would be happy to meet with you after the holiday to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
I wish you all a happy, safe holiday. See you on Sunday, January 7th.
I hope you are well. Can you believe it is the last week before Winter break? The year has gone so quickly.
Due to the tight schedule on Thursday we will not be having a big winter celebration. Instead we will just be having a small celebration in class. I was wondering if I could have one or two mothers volunteer to make some plain sugar cookies that we can use to decorate as a treat. They can be round, don’t have to be in holiday shapes. Please send me an email if you are able to send in one or two dozen cookies. Thanks.
Many of you have asked to keep the tens and ones games over the holidays. I think that is a great idea. You are welcome to do so. Also, if you would like a few reading books for the holiday I will be happy to send some home with your child. Just let me know if you would like a few pattern books to practice. I would also like to recommend that you buy your child a small journal (something they like with Spiderman or Frozen… on the cover) and have them write in it everyday. It can be something simple such as, Today I went out to dinner, I went to the shop with my mom. I made cookies with my Grandma…. It will give them a little practice everyday. Please remember not to spell words for them but have them write by chopping up their sounds. It is ok at this point if the words are not spelled 100% correctly, but rather that they used their sounds to write.Encourage them to bring their journals to me when we return in January.
I wish you all a safe and happy holiday!
THURSDAY DEC. 14th Pajama Day(all ES kids) & Santa Visit (PK-G2)
