Mother’s Day

Good morning,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Mother’s Day 8:15 in the cafeteria. Please do not be late as it is not a very long program, I would hate for you to miss it! Moms, Grandma’s, Aunts, Nannies are invited, sorry Dad’s not this time!

Your child should wear pretty clothes to make mom proud, no uniform needed tomorrow.

We had a great trip to the Beach yesterday. We saw so many amazing things. Your children are quite knowledgeable about ocean animals. I hope you heard all about it. Out of 110 children we did not have anyone who had to sit out for not following the rules. That is quite a feat and something to be very proud of!!! Thanks to Max and David’s mom’s for going with us.

Spring break begins on Friday March 24th and school will resume on Sunday, April 9th. I will not be in school on the 23rd. I am going to an Early Childhood conference in Brussels. I am very excited. It is always nice to go and meet other people who have the same passion for what you do. There are some great workshops planned and I am looking forward to learning lots! Have a wonderful, safe holiday.

KG2 Update

Dear Parents;

We had a great week last week. KHDA was in and out of the classroom but your children did a great job carrying on with their work. Our non-fiction books are coming along well.

This week we are looking at the Ocean environment here in the UAE. If your child has any books, toys or photos about the ocean they are more than welcome to bring them for our inquiry table.

Please remember Wednesday is International Day. Your child should come to school dressed in clothes from their home country. If they do not have any special clothes they may wear the colors of their flag. We are still looking for volunteers to help out at the USA booth. If you have not signed up and would like to help please sign up on the link sent last time or let me know. You are welcome to take your child out to help at the booth with you if you would like. Also, we would appreciate if you would send one batch of brownies. They should be cut into one in squares or if you send them in a foil pan I would be happy to cut them. Thank you.

  • Please send a beach blanket or mat if you have one that we could borrow to sit on for snack.
  • Your child should come in school PE clothes.
  • They must bring a change of clothes (does not have to be uniform) and shoes
  • They should wear some kind of beach shoes, flip-flops, crocs…
  • The students WILL NOT SWIM!
  • We are going to explore the shore line and see what we can find in the water. They are only allowed to get wet up to their knees.
  • We have plenty of adult supervision as well as a certified life guard.

**Moms,  remember that Mother’s Day celebration is on Tuesday, March 21st at 8:15 am!

Storybook character parade

Just a reminder that tomorrow morning there is a storybook character parade. Your child should come to school dressed as their favourite storybook Character. It does not need to be store bought or fancy. We will have a parade similar to the Halloween parade at 8:00 a.m. Pre-K-KG2 will go first. We will come out onto the playground and then back inside.

You are welcome to come and watch if you would like. Please stay outside behind the gates. The upper Elementary will follow us out at that time.
