This week has been full of holiday cheer. We have spent the last week working on holiday projects, including paper candy canes, holiday trees, and handprint snowflakes. We also read several holiday and winter books like the classic The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, Snow by Uri Shulevitz, and Elmer and Papa Red by David McKee.
We also celebrated two birthdays this week. Alexia turned 4 on Monday and Omar will turn 4 on December 19th.
Today was Pajama Day for the elementary school. We enjoyed our time being cozy in our PJs and sharing our stuff animals with the class. We also visited with Santa today! The children each got a special, little surprise from Santa.
Over the Break:
We opened a new section of the early years playground, the a sensory area. In this area, the children take off their shoes and socks to experience the different textures of various materials. Children may only use the sensory area if they can take off and put on their shoes and socks independently. To help your child, I am requesting that you have your child practice taking off and putting on their shoes and socks over the break. This is a great skill to practice and build independence!
Thank you for all the holiday wishes over the past week. I am wishing you and your family happy holidays and a happy New Year.
See you in January!
