What We Did This Week
This week we read Pinkalicious which is a story about a little girl who ate too many pink cupcakes and turned pink. We decorated pink cupcakes together and luckily when we ate them no one turned pink. We read a great book called How the Shapes Became Friends. The children created pictures with different shapes after reading this book.
At centers we made our names with playdough, practiced snipping and cutting, played a Pete the Cat math game, worked on strengthening our fine motor skills through lacing and a marble game and painted our names with Q-tips. This week we looked at how to care for and talk to a friend that is hurt and started coming up with the things we can say to our friends if we are not happy with what they are doing. These are things we will continue to talk about all year.
What’s Coming Up Next Week
Next week we will start going to see Ms. Amanda for gross motor classes. These will start on Tuesday. The children will have these lessons every Sunday and Tuesday. It is best to wear the gym shorts, t-shirt and sports shoes for these lessons. We will be reading books about apples and friendship. On Wednesday every child will bring in an apple and we will do many different activities with them. At centers we will be sorting real items by shape, playing 3 different math games, making faces with natural objects and playing friend Bingo.
