Math

Unit 4. Multiplication Strategies:  This is a lengthy, and important Unit that will take us all the way up to winter break. At home, please make sure your child is practicing the new skills strategies they are learning using IXL. A solid understanding of multiplication is one of the most important math skills in Grade 3, so we don’t want to rush through!

Biographies: We will begin a reading unit that focuses on biographies and their test features.

Journaling: Students will be creating nonfiction writing journals as part of our new Unit of Inquiry. This week, students completed Engineering Challenges in class, which will lead into journaling as a way to document scientific inquiry.

You can sign up using the UAS Parent Portal.  See instructions to book your appointment here.  If you are having technical problems please contact portalsupport@uasdubai.ae. The booking system on the Parent Portal will close on Sunday, November 11 at 4:00pm. Please be sure to select your appointments by that time.

 

We kindly ask that you complete this Google Form (G3) for each of your children in grade 3. This form will provide information to your child’s teachers in order to help them best meet your needs during these conferences.


Weekly Update. November 2nd 2018

Dear Parents:

Thank you so much for all of your support at the Government Galla & with Halloween this week. We are lucky to have such a supportive community. This was a busy week, and your support made it go more smoothly.

We were able to get a group shot of 3rd grade wearing their Green Shirts after the Flag Day assembly today. Students will be photoshopped into the school-wide picture. Thanks to 21st Century Technology, students were able to be in two-places at once!

Math

Unit 2 Assessment will be given Monday or Tuesday.

MESSAGE FROM 5TH GRADE

Dear parents,

On Sunday, November 11, the Grade 5 students will host “Market Day” as part of their How We Organize Ourselves Unit of Inquiry. During this unit students have been learning about businesses, how to start them, and what makes them successful. As the culminating activity, Grade 5 students have created businesses and will host “Market Day” for Grades 1 – 4 during each lunch recess on Sunday, November 11. Prices of goods and services at “Market Day” will be under 10 aed. If you would like your child to participate in “Market Day”, please send your child to school with a small amount of money (5-20 aed) on Sunday, November 11.

Congrats to our “Caring”n Lunch Bunch winners! Next month’s lunch bunch will be attended by two principled students from each class, and the Grade 3 Team!
