Students have been introduced to the summative activity options for our Engineering Design unit. Feel free to brainstorm with your student and gather building materials for in-class work the next two weeks.

Here are the options as a reminder:

  1. Find a problem you want to solve.

**As part of our UOI we are asking students to bring in recyclables (water bottles, shoe boxes, etc). Please make sure that these recyclables are clean.  

These recyclables will be used for an engineering project.

Unit 4. Multiplication Strategies:  This is a lengthy, and important Unit that will take us all the way up to winter break. At home, please make sure your child is practicing the new skills strategies they are learning using IXL. A solid understanding of multiplication is one of the most important math skills in Grade 3, so we don’t want to rush through!

Weekly Update. November 2nd 2018

Dear Parents:

Thank you so much for all of your support at the Government Galla & with Halloween this week. We are lucky to have such a supportive community. This was a busy week, and your support made it go more smoothly.

We were able to get a group shot of 3rd grade wearing their Green Shirts after the Flag Day assembly today. Students will be photoshopped into the school-wide picture. Thanks to 21st Century Technology, students were able to be in two-places at once!

MESSAGE FROM 5TH GRADE

Dear parents,

On Sunday, November 11, the Grade 5 students will host “Market Day” as part of their How We Organize Ourselves Unit of Inquiry. During this unit students have been learning about businesses, how to start them, and what makes them successful. As the culminating activity, Grade 5 students have created businesses and will host “Market Day” for Grades 1 – 4 during each lunch recess on Sunday, November 11. Prices of goods and services at “Market Day” will be under 10 aed. If you would like your child to participate in “Market Day”, please send your child to school with a small amount of money (5-20 aed) on Sunday, November 11.
