Weekly Update- April 2nd

Hi Parents & Caregivers,

This week we had another exciting week of E-Learning. We can see the efforts our students are putting towards their learning and the continuous support from you all. During reading, writing and UOI, our students engaged in learning tasks that focused on nonfiction texts with an emphasis on informational writing. We hope to continue to provide our students with integrated learning tasks. They also learned about American money and how to solve word problems related to currency.

New Schedule:

Click here for a link to see it in a document.

Starting next week, we will be doing synchronized learning with our students. We will be teaching live lessons Sunday-Wednesday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Students will receive a zoom link from their teacher, which they will be able to click to be a part of the live lesson. Please make sure students are ready and present at that time, as we will be starting promptly.

Ecosystem Research:

Each student will have a live lesson with Ms Prideaux once a week based on the ecosystem they chose. During this time students will collaborate with each other over their ecosystem. This will be a time to add more information to their research. Links for these Zoom meetings will be posted on the daily powerpoint.

Math test:

During our Wednesday live math session students will be taking the test. Students need paper and a pencil. During this time, we want to see what the students can do independently. We will be conducting the test live so that we are able to provide the necessary support for our learners.

Learning Activities:

On the powerpoint you will find a section of must do activities. These assignments must be completed by the students. At the end of the powerpoint there will be a chart of may do activities for the week. These are optional tasks for early finishers or students who want extra work. There will be a mix of academic work and engaging experiences.

We hope you have a great weekend and get to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Thank you for another great week! 🙂

Take care,

The Second Grade Team
