Library week beginning 28th April

In KG1

  • There are many types of insects and each have a role in the environment.
  • I understand that there are many different types of insects.
  • I understand that insects can change in different situations and environments.
  • I understand the importance of being different (Reflective)

In KG2

  • I can explore the BF section of the library
  • I understand that books in this section are organised in alphabetical order according to the author’s name
  • I can make a connection to how I am the same/different to the characters in the book
  • I can understand how the characters are similar
  • I can describe the characters’ feelings
  • To make predictions based on story events

Grade 3

  • I understand that books are valued in cultures around the world.
  • I can consider diverse and global perspectives in drawing conclusions.I can interpret new information based on cultural and social context.
  • Compare the characteristics of two different cultures in an everyday life activity (going to school)
  • Understand how the environment can impact on our culture

Grade 4

  • I can begin to understand what we mean by “Fair Trade”
  • I understand how travel and communication affect the ways communities interact

Grade 5

  • I can learn a model for evaluating an information source
  • I can explain what each letter in the RADCAB model stands for and how the concept relates to evaluating an information source.

In KG1

In Grade 1

  • Choices and decisions involved in making a journey (causation)
  • the tools and resources used throughout a journey (form)

In Grade 2

  • I understand the different ways we can search for a book on the library catalogue
  • I understand what a call # is
  • I can search for a resource in the library and find its location

In KG1

  • I can make a connection to how I am the same/different to the characters in the book
  • I can understand how the characters are similar
  • I can describe the characters

In Grade 3

  • Compare the characteristics of two different cultures in an everyday life activity (going to school)
  • Understand how the environment can impact on our culture

In Grade 4

  • I can begin to understand what we mean by “Fair Trade”
  • I understand how travel and communication affect the ways communities interact

In Grade 5

  • I can define the term “digital footprint” and identify the online activities that contribute to it.
  • I can identify ways we are — and are not — in control of our digital footprint.
  • I understand what responsibilities we have for the digital footprints of myself and others..
  • I can identify ways to post online to best reflect who we are.
