It has been a very long and exhausting first term but we are nearly at the end. I think all teachers and students are ready for the Winter Break! We have a busy, busy week with end of term finishing off, as well as preparation for the KHDA visit the first week back in January.
Today your child will bring their homework, their Math IPP from Unit 2, as well as the IPP for Unit 4 so you can see what is coming up in the next block of work. I have not yet finished the IPP for Unit 3 – some students have not yet finished their test. I will send it as soon as I can 🙂
I wish you all a super week ahead,
Hello everyone, I hope everyone is great. This is a very busy week coming up.
Events this week:
Tomorrow we have the G2 field trip to Flip Out. Thank you everyone for sending the permission slips and money. Students need to bring snacks and water bottles. We will eat snack before we leave, get lunch there, then have a fruit snack once we return to school in the afternoon. Please make sure your child is wearing their PE uniform.
Students will take part in six different trampoline activities led by qualified Flip Out staff. Each child will have two slices of cheese pizza, a healthy fruit snack and unlimited water.

The Magrudy’s Book Fair is currently happening, I sent you guys an email already, but just to reiterate that if you would like to send money yo school tomorrow then we can go back again tomorrow to buy any books that they wanted. Today we enjoyed browsing and looking at the wide selection of books available.

I will upload the newsletter and homework grid asap too for your reference.
I hope you are all wonderful!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up.
They will be on November 15 and 16 from 8:00-4:00pm. We ask that you please leave the child at home so that we can have a discussion about their learning. We will schedule all conferences, 3:30pm being the last appointment time.
Conferences will last a maximum of 25 minutes, it is a great time to build the parent-teacher relationship and I look forward to seeing you all next week.
Please open this link to complete a quick survey regarding your child, to enable me to prepare for our meeting.
A note about scheduling conferences:
***You received information from UAS Elementary School today on how to access the online portal and how to schedule your child’s Parent Teacher Conference (Nov. 15 and 16 8-4pm). If you have multiple children in the Elementary School, their PTC has already been pre-scheduled. Please log on after Tuesday morning to view your pre-scheduled time. Should you have a conflict with that time, it is your responsibility to edit and reschedule accordingly.

I have been asked to pass on this message from the swimming dept
‘UAS is hosting a high school swim meet this Thursday and Friday. We, therefore, must cancel the elementary swim practice this Thursday, Nov 9th. Also, due to PT interviews we will have to cancel next Thursday as well.
We will be adding a second practice starting Sunday November 12th after school. Please check Ms Terry Papov’s blog for further info.’
Therefore there will be no swimming for 2AK this Thursday, students will take PE instead.
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. The home learning grid and newsletter will be posted on the blog and a paper copy will be sent home today also.
Have a great week ahead!
I hope you all had a wonderful week. Thursday is here again. I will send the new homework on Sunday. The spelling test will be on Sunday as usual and I will give their new 10 spelling words.
Just a reminder that swimming will start on Sunday and students must bring:
- bathing suit
- swim cap
- flip flops/crocs (optional)
Have a wonderful weekend!
I hope you had a fabulous long weekend and enjoyed some family time together.
We only have a 3 day week this week, but it is a busy one.
Today we changed our library books. If your child has forgotten theirs, it isn’t a problem, I can let them go tomorrow to change 🙂
Thursday is Flag day and Grade 2 are required to wear red.
A red t-shirt or sweater is fine and regular school shorts is fine.
Music lessons will finish on November 2nd and swimming lessons commence next week, on Sunday 5th. A letter is being sent home in the homework pack with further information.
Homework is due on Sunday 5th – if its too much for you to get through in the short week just let me know and we can make an arrangement.
Have a great Tuesday!
